Ernst explains how Katsande is rising again for Chiefs

Cape Town – Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp says Willard Katsande’s work ethic, ability to take constructive criticism and improvement in his forward passing is a reason why he is starting again.

Katsande put in a monstrous display in central midfield on Saturday as Chiefs came from behind to defeat Chippa United 4-2 in a Nedbank Cup semi-final.

Khama Billiat was handed the Man-of-the-Match gong though the German takes the view that the destroyer should have been the deserving benefactor.

BANYANA STARS MOVE OVERSEAS!

ANOTHER success story for Banyana Banyana.

Banyana players – Jermaine Seoposenwe and Nothando Vilakazi – both joined Lithuanian side Gintra Universitetas on a one-year deal.

PROTEAS START ODI WITH A WIN: THANKS TO BOWLERS

Some consolation for a disappointing tour they claimed four wickets each to help bowl out Sri Lanka for 193, a total the visitors passed in just 31 overs to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.

South Africa’s chase depended on an 86-run third-wicket stand between Quinton de Kock and skipper Faf du Plessis, who both hit 47.

Off spinner Akila Dananjaya struck at crucial moments to get three wickets but Jean-Paul Duminy ensured a swift chase with his 32-ball unbeaten 53.

But it was a superb opening pace spell from Rabada and Shamsi’s career-best figures of 4-33 with his left-arm wrist spin that led South Africa to their first victory of the tour [...]

SAUDI WOMAN CELEBRATE THE END OF FEMALE DRIVING BAN BY DOING A LAP IN F1 RACE CAR

Women all over Saudi Arabia are celebrating a historic day for their country: the day that Saudi women are legally allowed to drive on the kingdom’s roads.

The decision to lift the archaic ban was made by the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in September 2017, making Saudi Arabia the last country in the world to allow women to drive.

Female race care driver Aseel Al-Hamad decided to mark the exciting day by taking a celebratory lap around the Le Castellet circuit in a 2012 Renault Formula One race car.
