RAMAPHOSA HEIGHTENS INVESTORS INTERESTS AT G7 SUMMIT

President Cyril Ramaphosa has welcomed the interest shown in South Africa by the global business community at the just concluded G7 Leaders’ Outreach Summit in Quebec City in Canada.

In a statement, the SA presidency said Ramaphosa welcomed the interest in SA as an investment destination and lauded the “wonderful exchange of views” in a session he described as oversold.

According to the presidency, Ramaphosa regards this interest as demonstrating a recognition of South Africa’s new dawn – a period of renewal and rebuilding.

Grace Mugabe ‘supported her ageing husband’s decision to resign’, says former aide

Former Zimbabwean first lady Grace Mugabe supported her ageing husband’s “decision to resign”, Robert Mugabe’s former spokesperson George Charamba has reportedly revealed.

Reports indicated that Grace had previously held her own presidential ambitions, as she reportedly led a campaign to get the then vice president Emmerson Mnangagwa out.

She was a key figure of the G40 faction that, until November 15, had the upper hand within the ruling Zanu-PF party.

Grace reportedly looked certain to become one of the country’s two vice presidents following the sacking on November 6 of then vice president Mnangagwa, who led a rival faction.
