INVEST IN SA DEPUTY MINISTER URGES

South Africa’s Deputy Trade and Industry Minister (DTI) Bulelani Magwanishe has invited Indian pharmaceutical companies to invest in the South Africa in order to contribute to the growth of the country’s economy, the ministry said on Monday.

“We have launched a major investment recruitment drive of $100 billion (over a trillion Rand) in the next five years. Our visit to India prioritises investment in the pharmaceuticals, medical devices and consumables. These are the main sectors that we have identified for growth,” Magwanishe said addressing potential investors at a pharmaceutical sector engagement session.

Durban – Student from the Durban University of Technology dominated the second round of judging at the Vodacom Durban July Young Designer Award, presented by Durban Fashion Fair when they snatched nine of the ten finalist berths at a glitzy evening of fashion at Greyville Racecourse on Tuesday evening.

Pietermaritzburg student designer Nosipho Ntuli staved off what could have been a DUT clean-sweep by securing a top ten spot, but the judges conceded afterwards that it had been very tough to separate the top ten from the thirty semi-finalists.

Zuma staff in limbo as former president packs his bags

Former president Jacob Zuma has not briefed his staff members with regards to where their future lies‚ at least for those who were not employed permanently.

Former presidency director-general Frank Chikane‚ who was once a chief of staff of former president Thabo Mbeki‚ said Zuma would be allowed to keep one house for a month but has to clear the other official residence.
