YOUTUBE LAUNCHES YOUTUBE GO IN SA

YouTube Go is available for download in the Google Play store and will come pre-installed on all Android 8.1 (Go Edition) phones.

According to Youtube, the app has been designed with the user at the forefront. It features a user interface that allows people to access their favourite videos and has been built with an ‘offline first’ philosophy, meaning it works even when there’s low or no connectivity.

In a blog post, Wikipedia has announced that it will form no new carrier partnerships and will also allow existing alliances to expire. Apparently since 2016 Wikipedia has seen a significant drop in interest for the program and [...]

Samsung’s fastest-ever SATA SSD – South African pricing

Benchmarks for Samsung’s new 860-series SSDs are in, showing impressive performance.

Samsung has launched two new SATA SSDs, the 860 EVO and the 860 PRO – aimed at the mainstream and professional markets respectively.

Samsung’s previous-generation 850 EVO SSD dominated performance and endurance comparisons against similarly-priced drives, making it an ideal choice for a consumer SSD.

The more expensive 850 PRO competed against the best drives on the market and regularly outpaced them in terms of performance.

According to early benchmark and pricing data, the new 860-series drives have improved on the previous generation.
