KOUGA CELEBRATES GLOBAL WIND DAY

The library is one of many sustainable development projects run by the wind farm in the communities within its geographic footprint in the Kouga region since launching in 2015.

Inspecting the progress on the project are community members (from left) Ragel Goeda, Babalwa Sahluko and Nozuko Ntshota, who have benefited from another of the wind farm’s community projects – the Rainmakers women empowerment programme.

RAMAPHOSA HEIGHTENS INVESTORS INTERESTS AT G7 SUMMIT

President Cyril Ramaphosa has welcomed the interest shown in South Africa by the global business community at the just concluded G7 Leaders’ Outreach Summit in Quebec City in Canada.

In a statement, the SA presidency said Ramaphosa welcomed the interest in SA as an investment destination and lauded the “wonderful exchange of views” in a session he described as oversold.

According to the presidency, Ramaphosa regards this interest as demonstrating a recognition of South Africa’s new dawn – a period of renewal and rebuilding.

‘FNB LAUNCHES SOUTH AFRICA’S FIRST BIOMETRIC MINI-ATM TO MAKE BANKING EASY

Known as TouchPoint, the device functions as a self-service kiosk from which customers can conduct transactional banking such as W, transfers and payments, view statements, purchase airtime and electricity and perform card cancellations. In addition to this, the device also allows for new account opening by reading a consumer’s thumb print.

Lee-Anne van Zyl, CEO of FNB Points of Presence, says “The TouchPoint validates a customer’s identity by scanning a fingerprint placed on the biometric reader and it can detect false fingerprints to prevent fraud.
