Deep appreciation for China in Africa, says Naledi Pandor

South Africa’s International Relations and Cooperation Minister, Dr Naledi Pandor, was on Tuesday positive about the progress made in fostering ties between China and the African continent at the conclusion of the two-day Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) coordinators meeting in Beijing, China.

‘SA IS BEING RECALIBRATED’

Ramaphosa made the remarks during his address to a breakfast meeting with SA business leaders on Sunday in the Chinese capital city of Beijing‚ during a state visit hosted by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Xi was in SA in June on a similar visit ahead of the recent Brazil‚ Russia‚ India‚ China and SA (Brics) summit.

Plan for China’s Xi to stay in power indefinitely sparks criticism

China’s plan for President Xi Jinping to remain in office indefinitely saw censors block satirical commentary and online searches for “two-term limit,” also triggering comparisons to North Korea’s ruling dynasty.
