President Zuma concludes fruitful Zambian State Visit

President Jacob Zuma had fruitful official talks with Zambian President Edgar Lungu during his State Visit in Lusaka this week.

The Presidency said the State Visit had provided a platform for both President Zuma and President Lungu to deliberate on various issues of mutual concern as well as to deepen and strengthen bilateral, political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries.

“It was an important visit for South Africa as our aim was to review and strengthen the existing strong bilateral and economic relations between the two nations and we are all pleased with the outcomes of our talks,” said President Zuma.

President Zuma to visit Zambia

President Jacob Zuma is later this week expected to undertake a State visit to the Republic of Zambia.

The visit is scheduled to take place on Thursday and Friday. The Presidency on Monday said the two Heads of State will officially open the OR Tambo National Heritage site in Zambia on Friday.

President Zuma’s visit to Zambia follows the Zambian President Edgar Lungu’s State Visit to South Africa in December last year.

South Africa is open for business – Zuma

South Africa is open for business and awaits partnerships from the Zambian and regional private sector, says President Jacob Zuma.

“As the South African government, we have urged our private sector to participate in the economic growth of the region including Zambia,” President Zuma said. Addressing the 91st Agricultural and Commercial Show in Zambia on Saturday, he said he was pleased that the South African private sector has taken up the opportunity availed by the show.

The 91st Agricultural and Commercial Show in Zambia provided an opportunity to promote the agricultural sector mostly the products of emerging farmers from Zambia and the SADC region.
