President Jacob Zuma congratulates President of Iran on his election victory

His Excellency President Jacob Zuma has congratulated the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, His Excellency Hassan Rouhani, who has won the Iranian presidential elections held on Friday, 19 May 2017.

The election victory will see President Rouhani serve a second presidential term, having ascended to the office for the first time in 2013.

President Zuma extended his congratulations and best wishes to President Rouhani and the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Japan monarchy: Princess Mako to lose royal status by marrying commoner

A member of Japan’s royal family, Princess Mako, is to surrender her royal status by marrying a commoner.

The 25-year-old eldest granddaughter of Emperor Akihito will become engaged to law firm worker Kei Komuro, also 25, whom she met while studying together. Japan’s imperial law requires a princess to leave the royal family after marrying a commoner. The move is expected to reignite debate on royal succession, with the emperor also possibly abdicating soon. Princess Mako and Kei Komuro met in 2012 at a restaurant, when they were both studying at the International Christian University in Tokyo.

India Unveils Ambitious Plan to Make Every Single Car Electric by 2030

In a bid against the hazardous air pollution plaguing the country, the energy minister of India has just announced earlier this week that they will be making sure that every car in the nation will be electrically-powered by 2030.
