A South African stuntman made it mission possible for the Blitzbokke to meet Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise after they clinched the World Rugby Sevens Series in Paris last weekend.
Former Durbanite Wade Eastwood‚ 45‚ arranged for the team to meet Cruise and his fellow cast members during the shooting of Mission Impossible 6. “We spent about 30 minutes taking photos and catching up. Tom and I also got to hold the winning trophy. We exchanged stories about rugby‚ filming and life in the competitive worlds we all live in. It was a good time with lots of laughter. Tom was extremely impressed with the manners and humbleness of the Springbok Sevens’ team and it was his pleasure to [...]
The Springbok Sevens team won their fifth title of the season and took an unassailable lead in the 2016/17 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Paris on Sunday and will be crowned champions next week when the series concludes with the HSBC London Sevens at Twickenham.
The Blitzboks outplayed Scotland 15-5 in the final of the HSBC Paris Sevens tournament on Sunday and increased their lead over their rivals at the Stade Jean Bouin to wrap up the series with one tournament to go after winning in France.

Though his highlight reel is filled with dozens, perhaps hundreds, of glorious goals, the 400th came somewhat simply. After James Rodriguez’s left-footed effort was deflected away by Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico, the rebound fell right to Ronaldo, who finished with ease and went off to celebrate his fourth century of goals for Los Blancos [...]
The Springboks will have their work cut out for them if they hope to progress to the knockout stages at the 2019 IRB Rugby World Cup. Allister Coetzee’s men were handed what many would consider a nightmarish draw after being grouped with Italy and defending champions New Zealand. All Blacks coach Steve Hansen said their match-up against South Africa in Pool B would now give their annual Rugby Championship games extra meaning.
“Everyone will get excited by it, and we know each other pretty well so we’ll just continue to get to understand each other before we get here,” Hansen said.
England and France were drawn in the same pool alongside Argentina as they were handed a [...]
