Ngidi to return for crunch World Cup clash with Afghanistan

Proteas skipper Faf Du Plessis confirmed that seamer Lungi Ngidi would be fit to return to action for South Africa’s match against Afghanistan over the weekend.

The Proteas have made an abominable start to the Cricket World Cup losing their three opening games before a washout against the West Indies on Monday gave the side their first points.

With other matches rained-off already in the tournament, the Proteas still have some faint hopes of reaching the semi-finals, but will need to win all five of their remaining fixtures and hope other results go their way.
